The incident which led to the charges was caught on camera. Kanye West, Chris Brown get new court rulings

The rapper will be formally booked but will not have to spend any time in jail. He will be required back in court for a restitution hearing and progress update on July 17. West and Ramos were involved in a scuffle outside of the Los Angeles International Airport in July, which was captured in a video posted on celebrity news website TMZ. It showed the rapper appearing to lunge at Ramos. West has become a frequent target of paparazzi after striking up a romance last year with reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

Kanye West placed on probation over scuffle with photographer

West had previously pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges ofcriminal battery and attempted grand theft in the incident, in which he allegedly attacked paparazzo photographer Danny Ramos. The incident, which was caught on film, showed West angrily encountering a group of photographers, putting Ramos in a headlock and wrestling him to the ground. West agreed to two years’ probation in exchange for the attempted grand theft charges being dropped. West also must complete 250 hours of community service, finish 24 anger management classes and stay at least 100 yards away from Ramos.
